Turning dreams and goals into reality takes dedication, honesty, and real reflection, and it can be done. Developing our networks and utilizing those individuals and skill sets in our lives is the key to taking a dream and turning it into a large goal. Once you have clearly identified and defined that goal you can break that down into the individual steps, the small goals you need to accomplish to make the larger dream a reality.

We all have our own skills and abilities and recognizing and believing in them plays as big a role in the creation and fruition of your dreams as finances, support, or any other metric you can think of. However, sometimes it is not easy to take a skill in your life and reframe it into a sellable skill or marketable object. This is where your team, your network comes into play. Within this framework it is important to understand that your network is anyone you know in your life, and here is the real rub, most of our friends and family both want us to succeed and are willing to do whatever they can to make that goal come true.

When you can recognize that Aunt Sadie or your dear friend John, the I.T guy that jokes around at work, can all become part of your team if you are willing to ask. This is not to say that services do not come with price tags, but we all know that old cliché, it takes money to make money.

That is where seeking grants comes in. Not all of us have an uncle willing to float start-up costs. Not all of us have the credit or desire to take out loans. What are available are grant opportunities, providing you know where to look and how to format a successful grant.
